Day 9: No.25 Shinsho-ji (津照寺)

Sunrise from the Pacific Ocean

The east side of route 55 towards cape Muroto is facing the Pacific Ocean, so I could see beautiful sunrise while walking.

The main gate of No.25 Shinsho-ji

No.25 Shinsho-ji is located on a small mountain in Muroto area. The bell-tower is laurelled in vermillion and looks quite Chinese style.

Steep stairs up to the bell-tower and the main temple

You can go into the bell-tower and ring the bell

Once I entered from the main gate, I’m bit concerned about my knee when I saw this steep stairs in front of me. The bell-tower is built on the way up to the main temple. You can go inside the bell-tower and ring the bell.

The main temple of No.25 Shinsho-ji

The precincts of No.25 Shinsho-ji is quite narrow, and both main temple and Taishi-do is relatively small as well. On the other hand, I could enjoy nice scenery like below.

A lot of pilgrims are visiting

Just after I finished to worship, a lot of pilgrims are coming up to the main temple, who seem to come here by bus tour. I have not seen them for a while luckily 🙂
