Day 4: No.15 Kokubun-ji (国分寺)

The main gate of No.15 Kokubun-ji

It’s obvious that the main temple is under construction, even though magnificent main gate welcomed me at No.15 Kokubun-ji.

By the way, there’re actually 4 Kokubun-ji in 88 temples along the Shikoku Henro Pilgrimage, and this is the first one (Awa Kokubun-ji) located in Tokushima prefecture (Awa-no-kuni), while other 3 are located in Kochi, Ehime and Kagawa separately.

Temporary main temple, while the original building is under construction

Even though the main temple is under construction, I can still worship at the temporary main hall. However, it’s indeed pity that I cannot see the original main temple.
